Understatement of the year alert: January has been a busy month!
My novel THE INTERN crept onto bookshelves two weeks before the official launch party (this Thurs Jan 30), I turned 21 (okay, 29) and have been editing my second book (while trying to remain A Very Good Employee at my fulltime job). And, in addition to all those fun times, I’ve been guest-blogging and completely interviews for some lovely book bloggers around Australia, sharing secrets, writing advice and behind-the-scenes info on my publishing experiences.
Here’s a sneak peek of what I’ve been gas-bagging about on the www…
My First Book Journey – Wordsmith Lane
“I was 26 years old and working as a fulltime magazine senior features writer when I wrote the first draft of THE INTERN. I used every pocket of spare time possible to write, usually before work from 5.30am – 7.30am, then locking in longer chunks of time on weekends.”

10 Things You Didn’t Know About Gabrielle Tozer – Reading Wishes/Debut Delirium
“I’m mad for Hawaiian pizza, just like The Intern’s main character Josie Browning. Apologies if that offends the ‘pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza’ squad but the heart (and tastebuds) want what they want! I chomped many slices of ham-and-pineapple pizza while writing The Intern.”

Interview with Gabrielle Tozer – Fiction in Fiction in Fiction/1st Blogoversary
Can you tell us about Josie’s crush on James?
“Yes! This is one of my favourite sub-plots in the book. The crush was a delight to write because it’s so cringe-worthy, and real, and innocent, and sweet. Josie didn’t have much luck with guys during high school so I wanted to introduce someone kind, funny and comfortable in their own skin to catch her eye (without writing a cookie-cutter male lead)… Hopefully readers feel the same way.”
